man i really wish you still hated it cuz i get excited there was finally a post to rail against. wall•e is by far my favorite pixar film. everthing about it is fantastic and all the choices make sense to me. i was truly amazed to see animators get emotion out of a robot. you can see wall•e loose his personality in the last part of the move and as a viewer i felt sadness and empathy for an in-animate object. when i caught myself feeling sad i was blown away. wall•e is a work of art!

Ok.... Firstly Pixar was not screwed on the deal at all.

I believe they were purchased via stock at a 25:1 clip.

So while Disney likes to throw their weight around and pound their chest like they "bought" Pixar, what really happened is Pixar got an ownership stake in Disney and like Desko said, Lasseter runs feature animation now.

Ever wonder why Meet the Robinsons was decent? Lasseter demanded a rewrite during the production of the movie. Was it great, I can't say that, but it had more watchability than Chicken Little.

Not only that but Pixar is still their own little entity who do things their own way with little to no Disney interference.

I'm not sure where anyone would get the idea that they were screwed in the deal because they get distribution through the studio with the most powerful marketing presence, freedom to create as they want, creative control over feature animation as well as many other perks.

I am glad that you finally got a chance to enjoy Wall-E and realize how magnificent it is. As for Disney buying Pixar... well... that was one of the best things that's ever happened to Disney, as John Lasseter (director of the Toy Story films) is now the head Imagineer at Disney and is in charge of anything creative at the parks.

Let me retract my comment about Wall-e. I just watched on demand on a very nice set up. I now appreciate this movie. I'm 75% through it and it is a great film. My airplane experience jaded my reaction.

I wish Pixar was not purchased by Disney. I also wish Pixar wasn't screwed financially by Disney on their inital deal. Pixar is the ONLY saving grace to Disney films.

Dissmissal has been denied. Wall-E is fucking awesome if only for condemning the consumerist society we have become.

Fat people making robots so they can stay fat? Awesome.

Not only that, but a filmmaker with the balls to say "You know what? I'm gonna make a movie where the main character hardly even speaks other than 'Woah!' and random robotic noises. And he'll also fall in love with another robot and it will STILL be a success"

Or well maybe you're right because I can't wait for Madagascar fucking 3. A lion who acts like ben stiller voiced by ben stiller! Hahah I love it!

In a world of dribbling shit propped up as "children's entertainment", Wall-E, and Pixar's whole portfolio, is a breath of fresh air after suffocating on farts.

If you dismiss Wall-E, I dismiss you for being retarded.

I understand where you are coming from with your response. I do understand the difference of watching a movie on the big screen and watching a movie on an airplane. However, watching Wall-E (maybe I am on the wrong side of history) was a catalyst for me to voice my opinion on the other garbage that has come out like "Bust A Moo". I will take your advice and watch Wall-E again in a better environment, but the fact still remains, I have dismissed Disney Movies.

I understand a gripe about Disney films, they turn out a butt load of drool for the youth. But when you slam PIXAR'S Wall-E, you are way off the boat. Perhaps you ate a handful of pill and took a shot of something before boarding your plane. But Wall-E is by far the best film of 2008, it is a break through film on so many levels and the highest rated film of the year. Another tip don't watch art films on an airplane. Every nuance, every beep, every pizza in a cup is so much more then the sum of its parts. I really think you should reconsider watching Wall-E on a big screen, with no airplane interruptions. I know film is as subjective as any "sublime" record, but you seem to be on the wrong side of history on this one.
