Southern California Edison: you have been dismissed

I live in Southern California and we ONLY have one electric company to choose from. This means you have no options, no choices and when you have an issue… you have no one to turn to.
My hatred began and was fueled the day I came home and my gate to my back yard was left wide open. Lucky my dog was inside the house this day and not roaming the streets of Long Beach due to your neglect. My question to you SCE: Is this really the best way to check my meter? Send someone on foot patrol with a clip board around to every house and read the meter? Beside the human error factor, this sounds like a HUGE waste of productivity. I mean its 2008 and I can have my phone pin point my location with GPS, we can have a car that parks itself and even order a pizza via facebook.
How is it possible that the best way to send my monthly activity to you is to have some shmohawk read the meters one by one? Can the info be sent to you wirelessly via my internet, through my phone
line or wifi? Just think, instant updates. No more random people walking around like zombies leaving gates open and peeping in your windows. I’m sure I just bummed out hundreds of SCE foot patrol employees and I’m also going to go out on a limb guessing they are in a union that prevents them from losing their jobs or caring if they leave anything the way they found it.
But you’re not interested in that. You’re not interested in making my life easier or less stressful b/c you don’t have any competition. We can’t turn to another company and have them provide us with electricity like we do when we have bad TV cable service (this is a whole other topic I can’t get into right now).
Just think, If private businesses were allowed to provide us power, just like cell phone companies do, we would see better rates, customer appreciation and maybe even better ways to read meters.
In the meantime I placed a big Master Lock on my gate.
Southern California Edison, get your shit together… you have been dismissed.

This sounds like white people problems to me.
Try having a guy dressed in a hawaiian shirt come yell at you to see your gas meter, then your shitty roommate lets him walk all over your backyard and he never even went near the gas meter. He claimed to be with the gas company, the gas company was called, they freaked and called the police.
my 6 most recent con ed monthly gas/electric bills here in NY:
$190 (expensive)
$230 (starting to wonder why i live in NY)
$320 (eating top ramen)
$515 (went fucking ballistic)
-$290 (they realized they screwed up)
-$200 (only $90 this month)
at least sce bills you correctly.
